Rumor: Nintendo To Cut DSi Price In North America Today

Nintendo DSi

With the recent Rumor: Nintendo announcing a Wii price cut for October, comes another rumor concerning their popular handheld the DSi.

Nintendo isn’t the company to generally drop prices, especially when a new system hasn’t been out for very long. However, one unnamed source, is suggesting that there will be a price cut for the Nintendo DSi today in Canada.  The only thing that’s unclear is whether or not this is just going to be for Canada or North America too.  Currently the DSi price is at $199 in Canada and $169 in North America, meaning that a price cut could come here in North America as early as today.

It’s also unclear whether this move will affect the price of the DS Lite, as currently the price of the system is very similar in the US and Canada.  In any case, a price drop of any kind would be welcomed and give Nintendo a boost in sales, for which they have been struggling for the past month.

Nintendo is trying to keep on pace with the current price cuts made by Sony and Microsoft, and to provide gamers with more choices for less.
