Be careful when going online.
When you get a persistent character up to a high level the worst thing that can happen is to lose that character. The second worse thing is to lose all of the character’s stats. That is exactly what is happening for a small portion of 360, PS3 and PC gamers playing the just-released Borderlands.
According to reports, which have been confirmed by Gearbox Software, a “very low” amount of players are experiencing character skill tree and weapon proficiency resets when they join, or leave, an online game. For those unlucky few, they have no choice but to respec their tree and re-level those proficiencies. An incredibly time consuming process.
“We’re working on it. Unfortunately there isn’t a fix just yet, but when one is available we hope to be able to repair as much of your character data as possible,” a Gearbox rep stated.
I’d hold off on playing online until the issue has been resolved. Hopefully the developers manage a full repair.

Is it an actual gamer online or just a bug in the system?

this is fake not real the image your seeing is a game type thing on the computer it is free and you do not download it this cant happen in the game u can reset your skills at a fast travel thing for like 9k the program above is to look at high level skills so u kno wat to invest in.
