BioWare giving Mass Effect 2 the Collector’s Edition treatment.
BioWare and Electronic Arts will be releasing a Collector’s Edition for Mass Effect 2 on January 26, 2010. The announcement also reiterates the fact that the Mass Effect franchise, it’s broken out in to novels and comics don’t forget, will produce a trilogy of games.
Including in the Collector’s Editions:
- The game (duh).
- A 48-page hardcover “Art of Mass Effect 2” book.
- Issue 1 of the Mass Effect Redemption comic book.
- A bonus DVD with behind-the-scenes and making-of videos.
- Unique in-game weapons and armor “that can only be obtained by purchasing this version.”
“We’re really excited to roll out this Collectors’ Edition featuring so many unique items, including special Collectors’ Edition armor and weapons and content that will surprise Mass Effect fans,” said Dr. Ray Muzyka, important-guy-with-a-stupidly-long title at BioWare/EA. “The limited edition comic book and bonus DVD will really enhance and expand the overall Mass Effect 2 experience.”
Mass Effect 2’s Collector’s Edition will retail for an additional $10. Not to bad for all those goodies.
