Silent Hill returning to the Wii on December 8.
Konami confirmed that it will indeed be shipping Shattered Memories (PS2/PSP/Wii) to retail on December 8, at least for the Wii. As of press time it is unknown when the promised PS2 and PSP version will make it to store shelves. Konami did say that the information would be revealed at a later date, leading us to believe that Shattered Memories won’t make it to those platforms until 2010. Thanks to the likely split in timeframes, rumors of a delay have become both true and false.
Silent Hill: Shattered Memories is a remake of the original title in one of the first survival-horror franchises. It stars Harry Mason, a man with amnesia who is looking for his lost daughter that has gone missing in Silent Hill. If you’ve seen the motion picture based on the franchise, it employs a closely tied storyarc.
Shattered Memories is being developed by Climax Studios, makers of Silent Hill: Origins (PS2/PSP), and has already gathered a handful of awards due to a strong E3 showing thanks to its original psych profile system and the dynamic changes it makes to the game.
Silent Hill: Shattered Memories (PS2/PSP/Wii) is available for pre-order now. We’ll let you know when the release date for the PSP and PS2 editions are announced.
