Moviewatch: Dark Void Being Turned In To A Movie By Brad Pitt

ggn_dark_void_movie_pittThink video game movies are bad?  What if one was to get a top quality actor in it like Brad Pitt?

Capcom’s upcoming original intellectual property Dark Void (360/PS3) just got a little more umph behind it.  According to the Capcom Unity blog, the video game is being adapted to the big screen by Plan B Entertainment, Brad Pitt’s production company.  The announcement doesn’t say he will star in the role, but marks Dark Void as a “potential starring vehicle for Pitt.”

Dark Void is a sci-fi action game that places players in the role of Will, a pilot that crashed in the Bermuda Triangle.  Will awakens in “The Void,” an alternate primitive Earth where aliens with superior technology are plotting to take over the planet.

“As a game, Dark Void was developed with a wide-screen mentality – a world full of adventure presented in cinematic scope and scale,” said Germaine Gioia, senior vice president, licensing, Capcom Entertainment. “Plan B recognized the potential of our newest property and are as excited about bringing Dark Void to life in cinemas as Capcom is to bring the interactive experience to home theaters.”

Dark Void (360/PS3) will be released on January 19, 2010.  We assume the movie will be far behind the release of the game.  No date was given.
