Sony and Developer Quantic Dream have announced that the long awaited Heavy Rain has gone gold, with a playable demo coming to PS3 on February 11th.
Heavy Rain is a dark, immersive and emotionally-engaging experience, creating a noir-thriller where decisions are charged with importance and actions can have drastic and unforeseen consequences.
The gameplay in Heavy Rain will be based around story, emotional involvement and the player’s decisions and interactions, rather than high-scores, combat and competition. Intuitive gameplay and controls are also fundamental to the experience ensuring that the game is mature but accessible, and avoiding alienating players with obscure stats and complex interfaces.
In addition, the first DLC for Heavy Rain will be available in March, titled Heavy Rain Chronicles, and will be the first chapter in a series of downloadable only episodes for Heavy Rain. The DLC will go for $4.99 each per chapter.
The demo scheduled for release on February 11th, will allow players to play two chapters from Heavy Rain, featuring Norman Jayden, an FBI agent brought in to help local authorities track down the Origami Killer, and Scott Shelby, a private detective hired by the families of past victims of the Origami Killer to find the serial killer.
