Transformers: War for Cybertron Debut Trailer

Activision unveils the first gameplay trailer of the next Transformer game.

Activision unveiled the first video footage of gameplay for Transformer: War for Cybertron (360/DS/PS3/Wii) and it is enticing.  As you can see the game will be set on Cybertron, the home planet of the Transformers, which will besieged by war before us humans ever encounter the “robots in disguise.”

The game will be partnered with a new line of Hasbro toys and an upcoming animated television show of the same name.  Such treatment will make the story, the war stories, canon in the Transformers universe.  Say it with me now, synergy.  War for Cybertron is being developed using the Unreal Engine 3 middleware.

The trailer certain makes players feel that they can become a part of that “living, metallic planet.”  If not, at least we can be consoled by battling “as giant converting robots in single player, online co-op or head-to-head multiplayer matches.”

Developer High Moon Studios will have Transformers: War for Cybertron (360/DS/PS3/Wii) ready for a May release.
