Nintendo has just revealed the box art for the upcoming and highly anticipated return of Donkey Kong, in Donkey Kong Country Returns.
Retro Studios, which is handling development on Donkey Kong Country Returns, will allow players to take control of Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong in order to stop a group of evil Tikis, who have put an evil curse which has plagued the jungle. It is still uncertain as to how many of Donkey Kong’s animal friends will return, but as you can see from the new box art revealed, it does confirm that Rambi the Rhinoceros will be returning back to the jungle.
The gameplay in Donkey Kong Country Returns is very similar to that of the first Donkey Kong Country on the Super Nintendo. We know that Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong will be playable using the Wii Remote and Nunchuk. It will feature classic 2-D platforming, with wide levels and the typical boss fights. The game offers two-player co-op, like the classic games, and the rest of the Kong family that was featured in the classics is yet to be revealed.
Donkey Kong Country Returns is scheduled for release on November 21st.

The reason for the delay was not stated but it’s quite possible HV wanted Conduit 2 to avoid clashing with other similar titles such as the remake of GoldenEye: 007, also releasing in November. Exactly when in 2011 we will see Conduit 2 is currently unknown but it is expected to be in the early months.
As a trade-off, HV will now be including Classic Controller/Controller Pro support for the game which is bound to make some gamers happy. Conduit 2 will also be making extensive use of the Wii MotionPlus. The delay will also give time to improve the graphics, motion controls and iron out any bugs.

In the multiplayer mode you play as ‘robo-sonics’ in a Eggman designed simulation. Instead of merely running to the end, players have to blend competitive and co-operative skills together to over come these simulations, whilst running at Sonic’s trademark speed. The levels have been especially designed for multiplayer to accommodate this.
Additionally, you can combine your wisp powers together to create new powers to help you overcome obstacles. There will be 6 tiers of three levels, so a rather impressive 18 levels will be available. These are unlocked via single player by finding hidden rings within levels.
Sounds pretty intriguing. More news about Sonic Colors and so far nothing that makes me want to groan/scream. Impressive.
Multiplayer mode is so far only confirmed for the Wii version but can be expected for the DS as well. Sonic Rush Adventure had co-op modes as well so it is expected. Sonic Colors will be released this November on Wii and DS.

Nintendo’s very own Shigeru Miyamoto has revealed that he is working on a new Wii MotionPlus game for the Wii, although it has not been officially confirmed as of yet.
Shigeru Miyamoto who is responsible for some of the greatest games ever made recently received a Special Achievement Prize from the Agency of Cultural Affairs in Japan, where he made the comments that he is working a new game that will utilize the Wii MotionPlus. Shigeru Miyamoto is considered to be the father of Mario, and the reason for his games being so great, is because it was always about the gameplay, and he has proved it with every game including the incredible Super Mario Galaxy 2, which is considered to be the greatest Mario game ever created.
As far as the Wii MotionPlus goes, Nintendo has only released one game that makes use of the accessory being Wii Sports Resort. The next game by Nintendo to require Wii MotionPlus will be The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, which is scheduled for release in 2011. With the upcoming releases of both Sony’s PlayStation Move and and Microsoft’s Kinect, Nintendo really needs to get a move on with their Wii MotionPlus accessory, and implemented into more games.
We dont know what new game Miyamoto is working on that will use the Wii MotionPlus, but we can expect it to be huge.

Designed to coincide with the 25th anniversary of the Mario franchise, this collection will supposedly be a port of Super Mario All Stars to the Wii with additional extras. These extras will be:
- Bonus booklet that will detail the history of Mario from 1985 – 2010
- Booklet will contain previously unseen development details and pictures
- Soundtrack CD with music from Super Mario Bros to Super Mario Galaxy 2
However, none of this has been confirmed by Nintendo beyond a release date on its website (21st October), so the above details may change and extra games/items may be included. The collection has so far only been confirmed for Japan and will be available in “limited quantities”.
The collection is highly reminiscent of the Zelda Collector’s Edition previously released for the Gamecube. We’ll bring you more news as we hear it.

A few days ago it was discovered Sega had registered Valkryia Chronicles 3 and now this teaser site has popped up. 1935 is of course a reference to the time period in which the series is set and the silhouettes nicely match up to the character/weapon style the series is known for.
The big question is will it see the series return to the Playstation 3 or will it carry on remaining on the PSP? I guess we’ll have to wait 2 weeks to find out the answer.
Valkyria Chronicles was released on the PS3 in 2008 and the sequel, Valkyria Chronicles II is being released this very week on the PSP in the West.
