Sega has announced that Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games for Wii and DS has sold over six million units worldwide since it launched in October 2009.
Nintendo President Satoru Iwata has announced that the upcoming Mario sequel, Super Mario Galaxy 2, will be released later this year. Also, the new Zelda title will be shown for Wii at this year’s E3.
Nintendo has announced that its blockbuster title New Super Mario Bros. Wii has been named the fatest Wii game to reach 3 million units sold in Japan since its release in December.
The highly popular New Super Mario Bros. Wii has hit yet another milestone today, with 10 million copies of the game already sold worldwide. The latest ‘Iwata Asks’ has been translated and made available, the latest issue is absolutely huge and contains a multitude of Mario/Nintendo trivia as well as details on the recently released New Super Mario Bros Wii.
Mario mania is in full effect as a new rumor has hinted that the next Mario game is currently in development for the Nintendo Wii, announced by the voice of Mario Charles Martinet, via his twitter account.
A new French trailer for the soon to be released ‘Mario & Sonic At The Winter Olympic Games’ has confirmed several more characters from both the Mario and Sonic universes making an appearance. It’s hard to believe that 20 years ago today the Sega Genesis launched in North America, and began the console wars with Nintendo. |
